  1. Donna Mason

The framework and questions posed in this workbook, generates reflective thinking and interesting insights you would not come to without it. The process forms more impactful ideas, recognises growth and values energy spent. Having clarity given on the effect of your actions is both reassuring and rewarding.

  2. Gerard Lowrie

This is a fantastic resource for providing structure and cohesion to any reflection process. We used it as a leadership team to reflect on our school-wide coaching approach. The framework guided us through a reflective process that promoted rich dialogue, which in turn allowed us to reach a higher level of clarity as to where we had been, the impact we had made, and the next steps for our work. We will be continuing to adopt this framework as a part of our regular reflection and review of school initiatives in the future. I highly recommend this resource for all educators wishing to improve their reflective capacity, both as individuals and teams.

  3. Ryan Westell

As someone who is constantly reflecting on the work I do, I find the way I reflect, and the reflections I have, can be haphazard and lack a real purpose and direction. This workbook, in a gentle and supportive way, encouraged me to challenge my assumptions and record past, present and future thinking in a clear and well-structured format. Of most benefit were the guiding questions that encourage deeper consideration of one’s experiences, and enable the establishment of simple habits of thinking. I would recommend this workbook to anyone wanting to seek clarity from their experiences in order to take purposeful actions with confidence.

  4. Jason Coleman

This Reflective Practice Workbook is an easy to use tool for developing a reflective practice mindset. The framework encourages deep thought, reflection, and action, leading to a habit of growth through developing a personal understanding of appropriate action. Using the workbook enabled me to challenge my perspective, look deeply at my assumptions, and create clarity around the next steps and sustainable action. It brought a sense of calm to my ruminations and allowed me to focus on the specific outcomes that I can achieve and reduce the overwhelm. I can see this tool of use to leaders, coaches, as well as teachers, to develop a culture of reflection, action, and growth, both personally and professionally in every organisation.

  5. Dr. Jo Winchester

I immediately saw the value of this workbook to critically reflect on my own practice as a teacher and a leader. For the first time in a long time, the workbook encouraged me to take the time to reflect on my past practice, to discover the root causes of some of my repetitive reactions, and to develop strategies and tools to move forward and improve my teaching and leadership. I would recommend this workbook for any teachers and leaders, but especially for pre-service teachers. University teaching students are required to reflect on there teaching, and this workbook would give them the tools to develop sophisticated strategies that they can bring into their careers as teachers, shaping them as the new leaders of education.

  6. Marion Martin

This workbook has many benefits toward positive reflective practice. However the most beneficial part is how it gently guides and supports the participant toward habitual reflection where detailed understanding of areas for development or change can emerge and be connected- where blind spots can be discovered and positive growth and learning can be explored. As leaders and educators we acknowledge the importance of refection, however, it can easily be dropped down the priority list of things to do. Using this workbook provides the direction and guidance needed to make reflection a part of your regular practice as it challenges deep thinking whilst providing guidance and purpose.

  7. Jason Fay

Self-Reflection is something that we all understand the need for but at times struggle to prioritise. One of the reasons for this is knowing where to start. This framework provides not only a starting point but a clear process to follow through on and hold yourself accountable to.

  8. Rohan Suttie

This has been a fantastic reflection tool that strategically maps out the reflective process. The Reflective Habit tracker component is fantastic to monitor my own wellbeing and reflections both within the classroom space and in my leadership role. Its step by step process is easy to follow and allows the focus to be solely on the practice of reflecting and not on understanding the documents. Reflecting on your own practice is critical and often forgotten amongst the work load associated with teaching and leading, it is refreshing to have a resource to guide me through the process that has a purpose of using the reflections to improve and establish actions. This is so easy to pick up and use and better yet I have found it super effective and beneficial in my development.

  9. Mark Bennett

This workbook is a powerful framework for reflective practice. The scaffolds are well designed, and the prompts are insightful. I appreciated the choice of being able to record my thoughts in the two templates. The booklet assists the user to establish action, clarity and energy as a result of their reflection. I see this tool being used by teachers, middle leaders, and senior leaders in creating a culture of personal and professional reflection. Coaches, instructional leaders, pedagogy leaders may also find the tool beneficial, not only in reflecting on their work but scaffolding the reflection of the professionals they are working with.

  10. Kath McLean

I love this reflective practice notebook. It is simple and straightforward to use while challenging and guiding me to think deeply and then most importantly, take action which helps me to be a better teacher and leader. I love the templates and the tracker is helping me to develop more sustainable and healthy habits of mind. I am feeling more confident and less overwhelmed with difficult situations. There is something for everyone (teachers, leaders, etc.) in this workbook even those who believe they are already very reflective.
