It is often difficult to explain what Creative Commons licensing is to students and teachers – this short film does a pretty good job of presenting the facts.

I do think there is a need for more high quality resources to help teach licensing of digital content and especially resources to communicate what it all means to young student. What do you think?

  1. Please feel free to use my Legally Reusable Media website.  It curates websites with media you can use in your projects.  The URL is http://goo.gl/uOVWS

  2. Totally agree with you. Difficult concept to understand, but if we start discussing digital citizenship and creative commons licensing with young students and continue as they grow older (something not enough schools are doing IMO) I think they’ll get it.

  3. We definitely need more resources like this! I will be using this video when discussing digital citizenship as I am surprised how many people are not aware of creative commons. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I made this site for my students and they use it a lot. It is in Swedish but I thought I’d show it as an example anyway. It both explains copyright, CC and Public Domain and it gives links to CC-licensed recourses. Whenever my students need material for their work they go through this site.
